Okay. I just want to get this o

Just. Bear with me here. There's a question at the end.

The thing about this place is, right, you get bored. There's all this time when nothing's happening. No people running around with guns, no exciting and newly mortifying floods, not a port in sight. And you get really fucking bored out of your skull.

And then you have a flood. And you die. Or someone gets killed and you just nearly die or whatever. Or you get turned into a sea monster or some stupid shit like that. Or then you have a port. And you lose your memory and become some indigenous farmer from the rich growing regions of some shithole world or whatever.

So then, when we're back in our prison spaceship, cozy in our own beds from home, we sit around and we like the calm for a bit. Yeah, people bitch and moan for a while and then everyone forgets that they just died or got turned into something nasty. We kind of just gloss over it in our heads. And life goes on. And we get bored all over again.

So I don't know. What's better, the calm before the storm, or the center of the tornado?

See, I'm undecided. I don't have a clue. I've just got this feeling.

Being turned back into my six-year-old self wasn't exactly what I'd call fun, no matter what other people are saying. I wasn't the happiest kid... And yeah, a GI Joe, really useful. Exactly the thing I need to be a warden on a prison boat. Thanks, Admiral.
